Happy Thanksgiving! Although in SA we’re not so accustomed to the tradition as in the US, we’re still getting into the festive spirit and there’s no better way to spread the joy than supporting those in need!?
We will be sharing some great charity organisations in and around Pretoria in the next few weeks to show you how you can give back this festive season, we have done the research and you can donate reassured.
First up, Pretoria Evangelism and Nurture or PEN charity is a faith based organisation dedicated to uplift people, especially children, in the inner-city. Igniting change, Healing communities and Nurturing togetherness as they strive to do.
They have 8 main programs including skills development and entrepreneurship, supportive housing, creative art, music and recreation. At the moment they have a few events coming up therefor your help in any of the below would be greatly appreciated.
PEN Sea camp
Sponsors for PEN Sea camp are needed in order to take a child on a camp and give him/her the opportunity to forget about their circumstances and be able to plan their journey ahead and to heal. The cost to sponsor a child is R1500, you can of course sponsor only partly or donate consumables needed for the camp as well.
An added bonus for those companies out there, you will earn a S18A Tax Exemption certificate.
Catch all of the Christmas feels with Christmas lights and carols at PENs yearly Christmas Ignite project coming up at the Bronberg campus [Corner Robert Sobukwe (Old Esselen) and Bourke street]. The “switch” on of lights will take place on 25 November 2018 up to 7 January 2019. Keep a lookout for some photos on our Instagram feed.
